- Our government has undertaken measures never before seen in Norway. Closed churches nationwide has never happened before, and has a profound influence on the daily life in our congregations. How to go about funerals, weddings, baptisms and confirmation urgently need to be communicated to our members, says Church of Norway Director of Communication, Ingeborg Dybvig
As of the weekend March 14. -15. we have collected and presented information on churches that stream services and devotions on the Internet. The immediate response on Facebook-streaming and the increased use of our digital platform for personal prayers, shows a need for this. In the coming days we expect that more and more churches will offer digital services, Dybvig says.
As the number of COVID-19 positive increases, the need for a digital community will increase. The direktor of Communication sees the challenging situation as a test of the ability among Church of Norway congregations to make use of the social media and digital communication in general.
